NMS seeks to be at the forefront of medical education, grounded on clinical research and a culture that seeks diversity and critical thinking in order to improve the health and quality of life of the Portuguese.
NMS works with several health units, which allows students to benefit from a variety of educational locations and a comprehensive and inclusive knowledge of the hospital and primary health care reality.
Named Academic Clinical Centre of Lisbon (CCAL – Centro Clínico Académico de Lisboa), created in 2015 as Lisbon University Medical Center (CMUL - Centro Médico Universitário de Lisboa) between the NMS and the Lisbon Central University Hospital Center (CHUCL - Centro Hospitalar Universitário de Lisboa Central) has been extended to more institutions CHLO, CHPL , ENSP, ARSLVT – Central Lisbon, Loures/Odivelas and Western Lisbon and Oeiras (ACES de Lisboa Central, Loures/Odivelas e Lisboa Ocidental e Oeiras).
